Do & Stay

Our Recommendations for the South West of England

Accommodation

We want you to enjoy the night without worrying about booking taxis, so we have secured accommodation on-site for the night of the wedding only at a discounted rate of £150 ($200 USD) per room.

Since the venue is a privately owned stately home, we have the place to ourselves. There is no curfew, no noise/time ordinance. We can stay up all night if we wanted to.

Please indicate on your RSVP if you would like to stay on-site on the night of the wedding.

As we’re unable to coordinate individual bookings, guests will need to arrange their own accommodations. We suggest checking Airbnb, Booking.com, or other online platforms for a range of nearby options.

Many of you will be traveling quite far to attend.. why not make a trip out of it?!

We've curated three distinct wedding guest trip stryles to choose from: a classic British seaside holiday, a peaceful countryside retreat, or an effortless city break.

Classic British Seaside Holiday

Enjoy a classic British seaside holiday in the same neck of the woods Marcus had his as a child.

For the full experience, fish and chips, ice cream and knitwear are required.

Exmoor National Park

St Audrie's Park is nestled in Exmoor National Park, a stunning, rolling moorland with roaming wild deer and ponies.

While there aren't specific towns or cities to recommend, there are a series of stunning villages and hamlets containing beautiful cottage accommodation (you will need a car).

We would recommend searching for the whole area on sites like Booking.com, and Airbnb (Airbnb has some amazing options).

This experience is ideal for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle and be surrounded by nature, open skies and beautiful scenery.

City Break

For those who prefer the hustle and bustle.

Bristol is a city with a distinctive vibe. It's a creative, alternative, historic city with a great nightlife and culture scene. Like a Banksy piece came to life (he's from Bristol).

Highlights:

  • Closest large city to the venue.

  • Amazing nightlife, great food and always something interesting going on by the waterfront.

  • Large enough to have cosy, quieter areas like Clifton (check out the observatory for a great view of the suspension bridge).

Approximately 1 hour drive to venue.

Bath

Like stepping into a perfectly preserved Jane Austen novel (she's from Bath). Bristol's elegant, polished, upscale cousin just down the road.

Highlights:

  • Extremely beautiful architecture, with Roman baths and sweeping Georgian townhomes.

  • Smaller and less chaotic than Bristol, but still perfectly located.

  • Despite smaller, a fully-fledged city, with plenty to do and explore.
